The practice assists with Highway Traffic Act offences, cannabis-related provincial and regulatory charges arising from Cannabis Control Act and AGCO enforcement, and other POA matters, as well as record suspension applications, counsel support, and notary services. Criminal Code Matters (Summary Conviction Only)

Sethi Legal Services accepts Criminal Code matters strictly limited to summary conviction offences, subject to prosecutorial election, jurisdiction, and the facts of the case.

Summary conviction matters may include, but are not limited to, the following:
 

  • Assault (simple / level 1)

  • Causing a disturbance (summary)

  • Uttering threats (summary, fact-dependent)

  • Mischief under $5,000

  • Theft under $5,000

  • Fraud under $5,000 (summary)

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

  • False pretences (summary)

  • Criminal harassment (summary, fact-dependent)

  • Trespassing at night

  • Public intoxication-related Criminal Code offences

  • Obstruct peace officer (summary, fact-dependent)

  • Fail to comply with an undertaking or probation (summary, fact-dependent)

  • Breach of recognizance (summary, fact-dependent)
     

All Criminal Code matters accepted are limited to summary conviction offences only and within the scope of practice permitted to licensed paralegals in Ontario.

Provincial Offences Act (POA) Matters

Sethi Legal Services provides representation and legal support for a wide range of Provincial Offences Act matters, including Highway Traffic Act, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, and municipal or regulatory offences.

Cannabis-Related Provincial Offences (POA)

 

Sethi Legal Services provides representation and legal support for cannabis-related Provincial Offences Act matters, including prosecutions arising from investigations and enforcement by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and municipal authorities.

These matters may include, but are not limited to:

  • Selling cannabis without authorization

  • Operating an unlicensed cannabis retail store

  • Unauthorized distribution or delivery of cannabis

  • Cannabis sales to minors (provincial charges)

  • Improper storage, display, or advertising of cannabis

  • Failure to comply with AGCO Registrar’s Standards

  • Breach of retail store authorization conditions

  • Cannabis use or consumption in prohibited places

  • Possession or promotion contrary to provincial regulations

  • AGCO inspection orders, tickets, and compliance-related charges


Services include assistance with POA prosecutions arising from AGCO investigations, early resolution discussions, procedural guidance, and court appearances where permitted.

 

 

Highway Traffic Act (HTA) Offences:
